Math Menus

The students each made a math menu choosing their own theme of their restaurant. They were required to have a specific fraction of their foods and drinks adhere to a standard to show understanding of fractions such as 1/3 hot drinks, 1/4 appetizers with cheese, 1/5 main dishes with noodles, and 0.5 of their desserts with fruit. They also had to include other math-oriented "things" throughout their menu. Here are most of their covers.

Pipe Cleaner Towers

On Friday the students tried making free standing towers out of pipe cleaners. They were only given ten each and if they worked with others, their overall height was divided by the number of contributors. They had a lot of fun with different variations and the overall winner was the same as earlier in the year when we made them with our buddies: Elliott.

California Missions and More

This post is share some pictures and links to videos for our class play California Missions and More. It was a tremendous pleasure to put together. I will embed a cast list in case you are curious who played who, but a special mention to students that went above and beyond their roles. James and Miya worked as our tech and music specialists, Syenna was our stage manager, and Ashlyn and Elliott were our dance captains.
